October meeting is on - nationals deposits
Hello all,
Some brief (but very important) messages follow that are relevant to members.
All Captains
The monthly meeting for October is on Monday 3/10/11.
The meeting will be held at Buffalos Bar & Bistro, Yass Rd Queanbeyan.
All ACTEBA members
8 pool tables (plus equipment including lights) will be available for $2500 each, in January next year. These will be tables of the highest standard (as used in 2 national events) and represent great value.
If people are interested they need to advise me soon, and pay deposits ($850).
All ACT State Team Players or Single Entries or Other Spectators
Payment for the event was due this week. This must be arranged as soon as possible and not later than 3/10/11. No player that owes ACTEBA money will be allowed to play in the Nationals.
All those who have not arranged payment by Mon 3/10/11 I will seek to have added to the debtors register.

2011 World Eight Ball Championships update
Quick update from Blackpool, where the Aussies are making some big noise and shaking things up:
Aust over 50s team WON the world title, defeating England B in the final 5-3!
In the over 50s singles, Terry Bond made the final, but lost 8-6 to Tony Kay (Eng)
Aust mens team made the semi finals, but lost to England 11-8.
In the open singles, Ben Nunan made the semi final, but lost 10-8 to the 4th seed Adam Davis.
Aust ladies team made the semi finals, but lost to England 8-6! England beat Northern Ireland in the final 8-7.
In the ladies singles, Renata Delahunty made the semi final, and BEAT Sharon Dickson (Wal) - who knocked out top seed Sue Thomson in her quarter final - 7-2. Renata now faces 2nd sead Emma Cunningham in the final.

On Nov 5th, Neil will play Marco Fu and Shaun Murphy plays Mark Selby. On Nov 19th, Neil will play Shaun Murphy, and Ronnie O'Sullivan plays Mark Selby. Nov 29th - The Final(First to 7 Frames)!!

Draw: 2010 Winter Finals Round 1
Hi all,
Below are the matches (and venues) for week 1 of the finals series of the ACTEBA 2010 Winter Competition. Please note these matches are on Wednesday November 3 (not next week). But a few important things first:
- it is up to the Home team captain to advise their venue of the match, and to brush and block the tables;
- the first team listed is also the Home team on the scoresheet (ie no coin toss to decide);
- as soon as one team reaches 13, the match is over (you do not need to finish all 24 frames);
- the winners play each other in week 2, as do the teams that don't win (ie the losers!)

OCTOBER Meeting Moved to The Maram
Players/Captains,
Please be aware that due to unforeseen circumstances, the October Captains Meeting has been moved to The Maram.
The Meeting will start at 7pm on October 11. Also, if you're keen, hang around afterwards to watch the ACT Open team do battle with the ACT Barbarians, in the series decider. This is the Open team's last chance to get their game faces on before the Nationals, so please cheer them on and get them hyped for a successful 2010 campaign!

2010 Winter TEAM FEES
Captains/Players,
Due to the change in the start date to the Winter 2010 season, some confusion has arisen as to the correct due date for team fees.
After careful consideration of the spirit of the relevant bylaw (ByLaw 16) and in an effort to allow as much time as possible for teams to collect fees, the Executive Committee have decided to set the due date for Winter fees to the September Committee Meeting (6 September). Even though this is after Round 8, the $10 late fee has been waived.
HOWEVER, all fees MUST be paid on or before this meeting, otherwise teams WILL be placed on the debtors register and all wins declared forfeits, as per ByLaw 19, if fees are not received by the close of the meeting on September 6.
